How can we set up a fun full proof method of handing down our Family Recipes, we would bring to Book Study Night, we can't allow our recipes to fade into oblivion. Should we run a desert thread, Kingdom Hall BBQ or Funeral Foods, Weddings, Circuit Overseer Special Diet Request Recipes? How can we organize and share some easy to cook, and tasty treats with our friends here?

The older brother in our Hall would mess up and say "The Wild Breasts that ride the Beast!" (A Porno He Rented Once?) He could never get this scripture correct!
@Yura: I agree, how could "men in Christ's hand" allow "Simony, Child Abuse, Fraud, Corruption, Closet Sex Sins, Theft, Swindlers, Defrauding Brothers, Corban, Mocking Jehovah and Jesus Chirst, 'A form of goldy devotion, only to disprove they are in Christ's hands by their conduct!'? NO WAY! Yura, how far into time do you see us at? When do you think these prophecies would be fullfilled, I know it's all our own opinion and speculation, what do you think? anyone else have any ideas as well?
@Cedars: It's been only in the last decade, my mind went off like a lamp. Easy for them to write themselves into Bible History, with each of their events. How was 1975's failed prophecy described in Revelation? How was the "Settlement for Millions of Dollars for pedophile victims" portrayed by Frantz? Was the down sizing and closing of branches, "Worm Wood"? All the lonely and poor retirees, with no pension or savings, what prophecy in Revelation do they qoute for begging "Kingdom Halls" for more money, to build more homes?
Which Trumpet Blast or prophecy for the changing of "This Generation" five or six times, like a ping pong ball. The clarification on accepting but not donating organs or blood. "The Superior Authorites", which our Romanian brothers could not tolerate, they tested this "new light" and found the New York Governing Body, to have been infiltrated by the Satan.
@donut: I like that one, how did they arrive at that interpretation of Abbadon? Jesus Christ is not some demon coming out of Hell! I can go with "men" who don't like being examined by their brothers,"Testing" as being locust out of Hell. Not my lord Jesus Christ!
@Sappy: I had a hard time accepting those convetions and talks being "Trumpet Blast", even as a child, it felt like a stretch, but we were in no small way, told why "this is what is true and Revelation has been opened for all to see" I wonder how their "Revelation Book" in 2040 will read?

Elder and Elderette- Jehovah Witnesses Who Renounce Their Parents, Do Ex-JWs And Fader's Pick Up Their Slack?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inhow many stories do you know of where outstanding elders and elderettes abandon their jw practicing or non practicing parents?
the watchtower society's representives don't seem to mind, as long as the elders and eldettes apply their love to watchtower party middle management.. what is meant by this, if you tell your parents "what i have that you might get benefit from, is corban, it's dedicated to watchtower "men of fame", so screw off mom and dad!
" i will acheive more glory by helping the circuit overseer or district overseer, they will glorfy me in front of my congregation!".

How do elders and elderettes not see the irony in their conduct, are they blind to the Holy Scriptures? If my parents supported me for thirty years, I suppose I might owe them something. This is not the case within the Circuit, you are able to dishonor your parents, disobey the Bible and have the Watchtower Organization bless you! Why?
Fader's and Disfellowshiped and Apostates, how much slack have you had to pick up with your elderly sick parents? Were you JW friends or family too busy, or wicked to help care for your parents? You can remain in good standing, have parts on Circuit and District Assemblies, get invited to Bethel, International Assemblies, as long as you donate funds. Has anyone ever used a non-NWT (New World Translation) bible at meetings / study?
by biometrics inabout 1 year ago (before i faded), i purchased an old king james bible from ebay and started using it in the meetings and when a brother came over to study with me.. a common reaction of fellow jws was to stare at the bible, then say "what type of bible is that?
", then they'd sometimes ask to look at it, and flip to john 1:1. when they saw what it said, they'd treat it like it was apostate material, even though a few decades earler it was the same bible jws used.. i strongly encourage any lurkers/faders to use another bible at the meetings and see what type of reactions you get.. .

Interesting topic for May 10, from "Today in History"
Siege of Jerusalem: After approximately two months of siege, Titus, son of emperor Vespasian, begins operations to breach Jerusalem's third wall on the northwest side of the city.
Titus not only succeeds in getting through, but he breaches part of the second wall as well. It will not be until September, however, that Titus is able to enter the city and conquer it for his father Emperor Vespasian. According to Josephus, more than one million people will be killed over the course of the siege of Jerusalem and another one hundred thousand enslaved by the Romans.
The siege and destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE is one of the decisive events in the First Jewish-Roman War (66-73 CE), also known as the Great Revolt among Jews. This is the first of three major revolts of the people living in Judaea against the Roman Empire, and while it initially begins because of religious tensions between Jews and Greeks, it escalates into a full-scale revolt in large part because of resentment against Roman taxation.
The early successes of the Jewish forces - first overwhelming the Roman garrison in Jerusalem and then ambushing the XII Fulminata out of Syria - shocks the complacent Roman leaders and inspires them to treat the Jews more harshly than they otherwise might have."

Using another Bible was never a problem, we had brothers doing parts with the "King James", "The Living Translation" "American Standard" and a plethora of other translations. Never did any brother attempt to disuade anyone from using other translations in Field Service, or parts during the Theocratic Ministry School. This is a non issue, I don't like Bible translatations that hide (YHWH) from them, if you can translate "Joshua and Jesus" into English, you can translate God's name too!

This writer debates that the name "Jesus" is not correct, Jesus did not give permission to translate his name into English, he equates it with Blasphemy. How can we agree on what names are good enough to use, to pray to our God and through his Son, Jesus Christ?
" What about the original Greek word for "Jesus?"
Within the discussion of the first verse of the gospel of Mark in the book Wuest Word Studies in the Greek New Testament we find the following:
"... Jesus Christ (Iesous Christos), Iesous, (pronounced yay'-soos) the transliterated form of the Hebrew word we know as Jehoshua, which means, "Jehovah saves;" Christos, the transliterated form of the Greek word which means "The Anointed One; ..."
In the quote just shown the author is stating:The name "Jesus" comes from the Greek word Iesous.
The Greek name Iesous is a transliteration. It is not a translation!
The author admits that "we," meaning himself and most other scholars, know that the actual Hebrew name of Messiah is Jehoshua (actually Yehoshua). This is an important point because it proves Christian leaders know "Jesus" is not the true name. As I will show later, the "English translation" of such a name is Joshua (Yeshua).
So what does it mean to "transliterate" something? The Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary defines transliterate as:trans•lit•er•ate: to represent or spell in the characters of another alphabet
That same reference defines "translation" as:trans•la•tion: a rendering from one language into another; also : the product of such a rendering
Similarly, the internet source, MSN Learning & Research Plus, gives the following definitions:transliterate - transcribe something into another alphabet: to represent a letter or word written in one alphabet using the corresponding letter or letters of another, so that the sound of the letter or word remains approximately the same.
translation - 1. version in another language: a word, phrase, or version in another language that has a meaning equivalent to that of the original. 2. expressing of something in a different language: the rendering of something written of spoken in one language in words of a different language.
In other words, to transliterate a word from one language to another the scholar takes the letters (spelling) of the original language and replaces the letters with the corresponding letters from the alphabet of the language into which the word is being transliterated. This is sometimes done by replacing the first letter of the original language with the first letter of the final language, the second letter of the original language with the second letter of the final language, the third letter with the third, etc. The result is a totally different word that is NOT a translation. It may also have been an attempt to render a similar sounding word without regard to the true representation of the name. I have seen material from others who present evidence that the Greek word Iesous may have been similar in pronunciation to Yeshua, especially to the Greek scribes that edited the New Testament and who were NOT Hebrew. However,

I enjoy Revelation 2, how it's application is only to rank and file, not to be testing to those in charge!
